Ancestry24 has developed a NEW, unique Family Tree Builder which you can climb up or down
to view your ancestors.

Start now by adding your parents, siblings, children and grandparents and soon you will find other family historians researching the same family.

Let us try and create one massive South African Family Tree by linking families and cultures from within our borders to the furthest corners of the earth.

Before you start building your tree.........Ancestry24 suggests that create your own electronic back-up of you family tree before you enter any names into our Tree Builder. This means you need to have a software program on your computer with all your data already added.

We cannot be held liable for any errors you create on the tree builder, duplicate entries causing incorrect relationships, loss of data or any errors that may occur through our trial stages of our tree builder. The Tree builder is a BETA version which means it is still under development and there are snags that still need to be resolved.

You will need download a program called Brothers Keeper from www.bkwin.com and start from the beginning and enter all your family tree details into this program. You only need to do this once and then you will never have to repeat this procedure. You then need to export a copy of the main file onto a disk and keep it in a safe place. This is something that should be done on a monthly basis – or depending how often you add new details to your family tree.

If your computer crashes and you have not done a backup – you will then lose years and years of hard work. Having it in paper format is one way of keeping it but to be able to share it with other members of the family or update it simply and easily and electronic copy is the way to go.

Brothers Keeper enables you to add up to a million people, add photos, videos and sound clips.
It has many screen and print options for descendant and ascendant charts as well as creating your own print-outs of calendars for birthdays, wedding anniversaries and other events.

You can export the GEDCOM file to other software programs that use the universal GEDCOM file system as well as import files from other programs as well.
